DESCRIPTION:Discover the extraordinary story of Dublin’s forgotten queer figure.\n📅 Exhibition Dates: 26 September – 11 October\n⏰ Opening Hours: Tuesday to Friday\, 12:00 – 17:30 (Closed Saturdays\, Sundays\, & Mondays)\n📍 Venue: Outhouse Theatre\, 105 Capel Street \n\n\n\n\nAbout the Exhibition\nStep into the hidden world of John “Jack” Saul\, a Victorian-era sex worker whose life was at the center of two of the 19th century’s most notorious scandals: the Dublin Castle Scandal and the Cleveland Street Scandal in London. \nBorn in Dublin’s tenements\, Saul’s story provides a rare insight into class\, sexuality\, and survival in Victorian society. \nThis immersive exhibition uses text\, images\, sound\, and video to bring his story to life\, revealing a chapter of Irish queer history that goes beyond the shadow of Oscar Wilde. \nThe exhibition is curated by Francis Fay for the Dublin Festival of History 2025.\n \n\nSpecial Event: Talk and Book Signing\nJoin acclaimed writer Glenn Chandler (The Sins of Jack Saul\, creator of Taggart) on Saturday 11 October for an in-depth talk on “Dublin Jack.” Chandler will explore Jack Saul’s extraordinary life and his role in the infamous Cleveland Street scandal\, revealing a hidden world of politics\, sexuality\, and power.
