SUMMARY:Outhouse Book Club - Evenings and Weekends by Oisín McKenna
DESCRIPTION:The Outhouse Book Club returns on Wednesday\, 16 July 2025 from 6-8pm in the Outhouse Library. \nThis month’s theme is Queer Beach Reads—stories that are perfect for dipping into under the sun (or a sunlamp). ☀️ Whether you’re actually headed to the beach or just imagining one from your sofa\, we hope this month’s pick\, Evenings and Weekends by Oisín McKenna\, will transport you. \n  \nTitle: Evenings and Weekends \nAuthors: Oisín McKenna \nLength: ~352 pages \n  \nDescription: \nIn the streets of the city\, four old acquaintances want more from life than they’ve been given. On the summer solstice\, the longest day of the year\, their paths will intersect at a party that will change their lives forever. Set in London in 2019 during the hottest June on record\, Evenings and Weekends is sharp\, sexy\, and soaked in the complicated search for intimacy and belonging. With dark humour and a big heart\, it captures the chaos of city life and the vulnerability that hides beneath surface confidence. \nin \nHow does it work? \nOnce you have secured your ticket\, it’s up to you to source a copy of this month’s book to read in time for the next Book Club session. See below for information on how you can find a copy of this month’s book. \nAttendance is free\, but space is limited\, so be sure to reserve your spot! \nTickets are limited to 1 per order. If you can no longer attend this event\, please refund your ticket through your order confirmation email. Alternatively\, you can contact Menzi at venue@outhouse.ie. \n  \nWhere can I find copies of this month’s book? Evenings and Weekends is available in most Irish bookshops and online retailers for around €15\, and you can also find it in Audiobook form\, narrated by Isabel Adomakoh Young. As always\, check the Outhouse Library too—there may be a copy waiting for you! \n  \nBook Swap: \nBring a book you love and want to share on the 16th. If you’ve already contributed\, feel free to bring another—or just browse what’s available. Swaps can be reclaimed at the end of the night or donated to the Outhouse Library.
