As we step into the new year, it’s with both reflection and excitement that we share the journey we’ve travelled together in 2023.
Despite the challenges faced by LGBTQ+ people, the solidarity and resilience of our community have continued to shine through. The past year was a pivotal one for Outhouse LGBTQ+ Centre. Emerging from the shadows of the pandemic, we launched “Space for All”, a bold and ambitious five-year strategic plan which sets us on the path to become a world-class LGBTQ+ centre. We’re proud to say that the strategic plan is not just on paper; it’s well and truly underway, and we’re excited to charge forward with it into 2024!
Let’s celebrate the milestones of 2023 together:
27 years serving the LGBTQ+ community
42,000+ visitors welcomed through our doors
265+ diverse events hosted in Outhouse
230+ social meet-ups in our centre
237 peer-support meetings conducted to build resilience

92 people empowered through our 7 personal development courses
3,381 cups of coffee served, connecting people over conversation

‘Coming to Outhouse was kind of a lightbulb moment of, “This is where I fit in. This is where I belong.”’ ― Jonathan
