Historian and activist, Tonie Walsh traces the evolution of LGBTQ community centres on the island of Ireland, in particular looking at the pioneering role and value of these socio-cultural spaces in Dublin: the Irish Gay Rights Movement at 46 Parnell Square and 18 North Lotts, Outhouse at South William Street and Capel Street, and the iconic Hirschfeld Centre at 10 Fownes Street which was destroyed by fire in 1987.
