Sophia has been practising yoga for nearly two decades and has been teaching since 2012. With a strong background in dance, yoga always felt very natural to her. Whilst studying in Trinity College, Dublin she was exposed to a wide variety of different styles of classes and teachers through her work on the committee of the Trinity Yoga Society. In 2010 she embarked upon a 500 hour 2-year training programme with Yoga Therapy Ireland. This YTT course has a focus on yoga’s therapeutic and mentally and physically transformative power. Sophia believes in the importance of inclusion in yoga and works to make yoga accessible to everyone regardless of experience, body type or physical condition.
Sophia believes in yoga as a tool for building greater bodily awareness and connecting with oneself. Yoga can be a fantastic asset for improving one’s mental health if used in the right way.
