Pride Clothes Swap!

Express yourself, embrace your style, and find the perfect outfit to wear this Pride!

Join us this Pride for a fun and sustainable way to exchange pre-loved clothes and accessories and to find something fabulous that’s new to you!

We’re looking for items you think would help someone feel special on the day of Pride, whether they’re marching in the parade, celebrating on the street, or dancing the night away.

When: Saturday, 21 June, 12:00pm – 2:00pm
Where: The Outhouse Theatre, 105 Capel Street, Dublin 1 (map | accessibility info)

So whether you’re looking for all things glitter and sequins, something more androgynous, or accessories that’ll help you stand out, drop in and take in the Pride vibes!

How the Clothes Swap Works
The Outhouse Theatre will be transformed Saturday, 21 June, with all of the Pride-themes clothes ready to browse on the rails. You can try stuff on, walk the runway, and check out with your ‘new to you’ items! It’s open to anyone to participate, even if you don’t have something to swap.

We want items that can make you feel special on the day of Pride, clothes that help people express themselves, stand out from the crowd, and feel comfortable. It doesn’t have to be all glitter, sequins, and rainbows, but we definitely want lots of that too! Check out our mood board here for some inspo!

Self expression is such an important thing for LGBTQ+ people, and we understand that this can come in many different forms. Please use your best judgement and think about items that make you light up and feel authentically you when you put them on.

We’re hoping for a variety of styles, sizes, and categories, so keep that in mind.

To ensure things can run smoothly for everyone involved, please do not bring any items on the day of the swap.

If you would like to contribute clothes to our swap, you can bring your items to Outhouse LGBTQ+ Centre (map) during one of the dedicated times in the 2 weeks leading up to the event. This will allow us to get everything ready for the swap event ahead of time.

You can drop-in your items at the following times (no booking required):

  • Saturday, 14 June; 1:30pm – 4:00pm
  • Tuesday, 17 June; 6pm – 7pm
  • Wednesday, 18 June; 12:30pm – 2pm
  • Friday, 20 June; 1pm – 2pm
  • Friday, 20 June; 5:30pm – 7pm

When you drop in your items, you will receive exchange tokens in return. Depending on quality, your items will be worth 1, 2, or 3 swap tokens per piece.

  • 1 token = basic high street (Penneys, Zara, Asos, etc.) and accessories
  • 2 tokens = higher-end high street (Cos, All Saints, Urban Outfitters, Carhartt, etc.)
  • 3 tokens = designer and genuine vintage

Items on the rails on the day of the event are also worth 1, 2, or 3 swap tokens per piece.

You can bring up to 5 items of clothing (max) in good or new condition. Items must be clean and in good/new condition. All items must be washed before bringing them to us.

Items will be reviewed upon arrival and may be handed back to you if not suitable. We will do our absolute best to assess items fairly, and we understand that fashion is subjective. However, in order to ensure our swap is manageable on the day and can run smoothly, we may have to reject some items.

What we’re accepting for the swap:

  • All gender and gender-neutral clothes
  • Handbags
  • Shoes
  • Pride-appropriate accessories (except jewellery)

What we’re NOT accepting:

  • Anything with rips/stains/tears/holes
  • Anything unwashed or in questionable condition
  • Jewellery
  • Kids clothes
  • Underwear, PJ’s, and swimwear
  • Homeware
  • Random junk from around your home!

Absolutely, although we do encourage as many people as possible to take part in the ‘swap’ element. Item costs are as follows:

  • 1 token = €6
  • 2 tokens = €11
  • 3 tokens = €17

While we expect to have lots of fabulous items available, there is a chance you might not find something that’s right for you.

If any of the items you brought are still remaining, you are welcome to take them back at the end of the swap. However,

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the clothes swap, we cannot exchange unused tokens for money at the end of the swap. All remaining items will be considered a charitable donation to Outhouse LGBTQ+ Centre (Charity No. 20033293).

Absolutely, and we really appreciate your generosity! But please remember, we’re looking for special items and we are not a place for you to get rid of your unwanted clutter! Outhouse is a charity, and this event is being run by our team to benefit the community. Please treat us with respect! 🙏

  • Unsuitable items will be returned to the swapper. Please be understanding of this with our staff and volunteers.
  • Outhouse LGBTQ+ Centre is a registered charity, and this clothes swap is being organised for the benefit of the LGBTQ+ community. Anything that is left at the end of the event will be donated and proceeds will go directly towards Outhouse’s charitable mission.

If you have any questions about this event or need some support, please email Luan at luan@outhouse.ie.
