Bring an open mind and heart to this session
6 – 8 pm
In the Theatre
Sound baths are a combination of restorative yoga, meditation, and sacred sound. James Byrne is going to use Tibetan and crystal singing bowls in this session to help you enter into a deep state of relaxation.
The session is free and is part of the Outhouse Pride 2022.
The goal of a sound bath isn’t to listen and pay attention but rather to let the sound wash over you. Like a bath, all you have to do is lie back and absorb. Let the sound transport you to wherever you need to go.
Among the benefits of sound baths are:
- slower pulse
- lower heart rate
- lower blood pressure
- deeper breathing
- a deep sensation of well-being and relaxation
The sound vibrations may also help move emotion, allowing you to purge grief, sadness, and anger. Altogether, these calming effects may boost your immune system’s functioning, meaning that the benefits continue long after your sound bath session is over.
Blankets will be provided but feel free to bring your own blankety or yoga mat for added comfort. We recommend you wear comfortable loose clothing. You can also bring an eye mask and/or pillow for extra comfort if you want. Most essential is to bring an open mind and heart.
