Negotiable room hire rates are available for unfunded voluntary and community groups. In such cases, User Groups are asked to make a donation towards room hire, suggested donation as follows; persons in employment €2 and persons unemployed €1. The availability of these rates is subject to management approval.

Third Sector Rates

These rates are applicable to Charities, NGOs, and Social Enterprises that operate on a not-for-profit basis.

Locker & Mailbox

Lockers and Mailboxes are available upon request; please ask at Reception for details. There is a small charge for these services due to admin costs.  Please note locker keys are held in a locked key box at Reception and are not to be removed from the premises.

Wifi - Free wifi is available throughout the Centre. Please ask Reception for details and the WiFi password.

 
Space Hire Terms and Conditions


It is the responsibility of the person who makes the booking to ensure that the following ‘Building Exit Announcement’ is made before each meeting/event takes place;

"Please listen carefully to this announcement regarding important safety information to assist you in exiting the building in case of a fire, emergency or building evacuation.  To exit this building, please exit the room/office you are in and proceed down the main stairwell. This is the same stairwell you entered the building.  Once safely outside of the building, please proceed to the Evacuation Assembly Point – No. 100 Capel Street (exit the building and turn left). Outhouse staff will assist you in exiting the building, please follow their instructions carefully. This completes the safety announcement; thank you."

Note:  Instructions for exiting the building are located on the back of (or beside) the door you entered the room/office.

All Service Users / Groups of Outhouse facilities are expected to treat other Service Users / Groups with courtesy and respect in line Outhouse ethos outlined above and the following Service Users / Groups Code of Conduct;

Within these walls, we expect to be treated with consideration and kindness. We expect our person, our property, and our opinions to be respected.  We expect to be free from violence and the threat of violence. We expect our disagreements to be resolved with sensitivity and goodwill. In return, we are expected to be considerate and kind, to respect the persons, property, and opinions of others.  To behave non-violently, to display sensitivity and goodwill in resolving disagreements. Within these walls, we hold ourselves to a higher standard of conduct and social interaction.  We strive to make this place a haven free of the ills and abuses we find outside it.

Only persons over the age of 18 years may hire space at the Centre. Proof of age (passport/driver's licensee / Garda ID) may be requested. 

A booking will be deemed valid once a fully complete, signed venue booking form is received from the Service User / Group and confirmation, via email has been sent by the Venue & Events Officer.  The management reserves the right to refuse admission to (or decline a booking from) any person, group or organisation.

All Service Users / Groups must have their own Public Liability Insurance and provide evidence of same. Upon request, Service Users / Groups may request to be covered under Outhouse Public Liability Insurance when on-premises. 

Service Users / Groups must immediately notify the Venue & Events Officer if their booking involves activities with children or vulnerable adults. In such cases, the Service User / Group must provide evidence that the appropriate protection policies are in place prior to the booking being confirmed. 

Invoices and/or receipts are issued for all room hires. Payment for room hire is due after a booking has taken place at the centre. Payments may be made either by cash, cheque or bank transfer. A direct debit option is available for long-term use. If the only available room exceeds a Service User / Groups requirement they will be accommodated in a larger room at no additional cost.  

If you wish to cancel your booking, please get in touch with the Venue & Events Officer - cancellation charges will be applied as follows:

Notice Period Percentage charge
Less than 2 days before booking commencement and no shows 100%
Between 1 week and 3 days before booking commencement 50%
Between 2 weeks and 1 week before booking commencement 25%
Greater than 2 weeks before booking commencement 0%

It is expected that Service Users / Groups meeting outside of core opening hours will meet the extra costs associated with this (security, heating etc.). These costs are as follows:

Monday to Sunday after 9 pm and before 10.30 am (unsociable hours) €33.00
Sunday and bank holidays daytime from (10.30 am - 9 pm) €33.00

Note: An addition of 1 hour (30 minutes prior and 30mins after your booking will be applied to allow for the opening and closing of the building)

A late finish charge is applied if your event runs over its allocated time. Charges are applied in addition to room hire and staffing costs on a per-hour or part thereof basis.

Damage

Damage caused to Outhouse furniture and fittings, equipment or the space itself will be charged at the full cost of repairs.

Cleaning charge

Failure to return a room to a respectable standard expected after use will result in a €40.00 penalty charge. This includes chairs being stacked in a corner of the room and all rubbish disposed of in the bins provided. If your booking requires you to move fixed furniture around the space (not inclusive of the folding tables and stackable chairs), please ask Outhouse staff for assistance. Bookers are not permitted to move fixed furniture without consent from staff.

Should you require the use of Outhouse studio theatre equipment (theatre lights, sound desk etc.) please indicate so on the venue booking form.

All meetings/events will be published on the Outhouse website and/or Outhouse social media platforms.  If you would like to opt-out of this service, please indicate so on your venue booking form.

Outhouse is, in general, an alcohol-free space, although it may be permitted for special events (see Alcohol policy). If Service Users / Groups wish to hold an event with alcohol, they should indicate so on the venue booking form.  The use of alcohol at events is at Management's discretion. 

If Service Users / Groups require catering, please indicate so on the venue booking form. 

As a courtesy to other Service Users / Groups, staff and volunteers, we ask everyone to vacate the room by the time indicated on your venue booking form.  Please leave the room in the same condition as you find it.

If Service Users / Groups are advertising their event, all photos of Outhouse or use of the Outhouse logo must be approved by Management.

Under no circumstances may any materials, decorations or paper be affixed to the walls, furniture, lighting, or fixtures.

If you wish to make a complaint, copies of the Outhouse Complaints Policy are available at Reception or by emailing reception@outhouse.ie.  Completed complaint forms may be emailed to the Operations & Development Manager (odmanager@outhouse.ie) or left at reception in a sealed envelope marked for the Operations & Development Manager’s attention.
