Volunteer with Outhouse for Pride 2026!
Calling all volunteers! Join us this Pride season and lend your support at our community events. Volunteer with Outhouse LGBTQ+ Centre and be part of something unforgettable!
Pride Volunteer Role Overview & Requirements
Volunteers are an essential part of making Pride at Outhouse welcoming, safe, and enjoyable for our community. Throughout the Pride season, volunteers support a range of events and activities at the centre and across Pride.
What Volunteers Help With
Depending on the event, volunteers may assist with:
- Welcoming visitors and helping create a friendly, inclusive atmosphere
- Supporting events such as talks, workshops, and community activities
- Event set-up, facilitation support, and pack-down
- Sharing information about Outhouse and engaging with the public
- Fundraising activities, including collecting donations
- Supporting Pride Day, including the march, parade, and Pride Village
- Helping maintain clean, organised, and safe spaces within Outhouse
Volunteers may support various activities throughout the Pride season, depending on the needs of each event.
What We Look For
You don’t need previous volunteering experience to apply. We welcome volunteers from across the LGBTQ+ community and our allies.
Helpful qualities include:
- Friendly and approachable communication skills
- Confidence engaging with members of the public
- Reliability and willingness to help where needed
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Supporting hospitality areas, such as our café space
- Enthusiasm for supporting LGBTQ+ community spaces
Some Pride events can be busy, loud, and high-energy, so volunteers should feel comfortable in crowded environments.
Availability
Outhouse hosts events throughout the Pride season, with many activities taking place on weeknights and Saturdays. We especially encourage volunteers to be available for the day of the Pride march and parade (27 June), which is one of the most important moments of the season.
Specific event details, schedules, and volunteer roles will be shared during our Volunteer Training Day.
