Intersex Peer Support Group

DATE

July 18, 2026

TIME

14:00 - 16:00

Event Description

Our Intersex Peer Support Group is a space for intersex people to speak openly about their experiences and learn from each other in a safe and supportive environment. The group is led by Outhouse LGBTQ+ Centre volunteers who are Intersex themselves. The group offers peer support, community building, and empowerment.

The primary purpose of the group is to foster a safe and inclusive environment where intersex people can engage in personal development while creating a sense of belonging and community with one another.

Additionally, the group offers opportunities for those interested in engaging in activism to build their confidence and resilience. However, this is not a requirement for membership.

The group now meets quarterly on Saturdays from 2pm to 4pm. Dates for 2026 are: March 21st, July 18th, October 17th.

Attendance at every meeting is not mandatory. Each monthly session covers differenttopics, such as;

  • Building Resilience: Protecting your wellbeing, improving resilience, coping with
    tough times, and incorporating self-care into your routine.
  • Sexuality and Sexual Health: Exploring attitudes towards sexuality and sexual
    orientation for intersex people and addressing internalised phobias.
  • Identity and Community: Discussing personal identity, relationships with gender
    identity, and the sense of community among intersex people.

If you are interested in joining the group and attending a meeting, please register here >>. Once you have registered, you will receive an email invitation before each meeting.
